Choosing a Protein Powder Tips and Information

I thought I'd pass along some great information from Nature's Sunshine. If you are looking for some tips regarding weight loss then the following information is just for you. I hope you find it helpful.

NSP Protein Powders

Protein shakes can be a great tool during a weight management program. They can help control calorie intake,
balance blood sugar, increase energy, and maximize nutrient intake!!!  Some important factors to keep in mind when choosing a protein powder:
• What is the source of protein?
• It is important to choose a protein that is digestible by your body. If you are not
digesting the protein powder it may lead to digestion issues, inflammation, etc.
• What is in a serving size? Be aware of the calorie and protein content of each serving.
For a snack you may consider using only half a serving.

Nutri Burn (Whey Protein)
Nutri Burn provides 25 grams of lactose-free whey protein and 6g of dietary fiber per serving.
It is easy to digest which helps build and repair muscle tissue. This increasing lean muscle
mass and leads to increases in the resting metabolic rate, or the rate that your body burns
fuel for energy. Nutri Burn comes in vanilla and chocolate flavors. It can be used as a meal
replacement or you may reduce the serving size and use it as a snack.

Syner Pro (Soy Protein)
This is a low fat balanced soy protein supplement that contains nine essential amino acids,
vitamins, and minerals. It has a vanilla flavor and supplies 20 grams of soy protein and 3
grams of fiber per serving. It can be used as a meal replacement or between meals as a
snack.

Love & Peas (Vegan/ Pea Protein)
This is a nutritional blend of 20 g of pea protein from split yellow peas. This product is
certified vegan. Pea protein is a source of natural, plant based protein which is lactose,
dairy, and gluten free! The blend contains plant based enzymes and is easily digested! It
offers antioxidants as well as a balance of amino acids and 3g of dietary fiber per serving.

Tips:
• Blend you protein powder with water ice and any additional nutrients to make a Yummy
Treat!
• Add your favorite fruits. This will provide additional vitamins, minerals, and fiber to your
drink.
• Add a handful of fresh spinach. Not only will you be getting a serving of vegetables,
spinach is Alkaline which will help to balance pH. It is also rich in minerals!

Just to let you know, my favorite is the Love & Peas.  It is also superb to use as a meal replacement.  I have used it for my mother who is a diabetic.
